Cribs & Sleep Options

The slats of a crib can not be spaced more than 2 3/8" inches apart. This is to avoid babies from getting their body or head stuck between the slats causing injury or suffocation. Also, the sidebars should be at least 26" above the cribs mattress when it is in the lowest position.

We require all our cribs to be meticulously cleaned and sanitized, as well as all of our other baby equipment. As babies' immune systems are in the developing stage we know that parents and grandparents appreciate clean gear. Our cribs and mattresses are inspected and cleaned after every customer pickup and again inspected and re-cleaned again before being loaded for delivery. Note: All of our cleaning solutions are of the non-toxic or organic variety.

All our standard mattresses are 3" thick and are provided by the crib manufacturers for a proper safe fit.  We also rent aftermarket extra comfort 5" to 6" thick infant/toddler flip mattresses. For the best fit, we provide name brand mattresses that allow no more than two fingers between the mattress and the crib frame. Large gaps can cause the baby to slip between the slats and the mattress which could result in suffocation.

For your own crib mattresses, it's always best to contact your crib manufacturer to get a list of appropriate mattresses for the brand and model you own.

Mobiles and crib gyms are perfect for entertaining babies, but be sure to remove them as they are no longer safe when your child becomes able to get up onto their hands and knees or pull themselves upright.

It's time to lower the crib mattress down when babies begin to pull themselves up to a standing position or if they can sit up all alone.  Lowering the mattress can help prevent your little ones from climbing out or falling out of a crib.

If your child can stands more than a couple of inches taller than the sidebar of a crib with the mattress in the lowest possible position or if your child is actively climbing out of the crib, for their safety it may be time to place them in a toddler bed with side rails!  By the way... we rent these too!

All of our cribs come delivered with a 3" standard mattress, that can be upgraded for a minimal cost to a quality name brand 5 - 6" mattress, 2 clean snug fit mattress sheets, and a snug fit water resistant mattress cover for each crib rented.
